Additional BBQ tickets can also be purchased during registration for $15.00 (Camper BBQ ticket is included in the price of camp). The BBQ is held on the last day of camp, the day of the concerts.
The High School Band/Honors Wind Ensemble Camp is designed for musicians ranging from the most talented and proficient to the less experienced. It is open to entering grades 9, 10, 11, or 12. This session features four concert bands each conducted by recognized outstanding conductors from around the state of Texas. The program includes sectionals, master classes, elective study, supervised practice, and optional private lessons. Students who have completed the 8th grade may register for High School Band/Honors Wind Ensemble Camp and/or Middle School Band Camp.
All students will audition for placement on the first day of camp. Students who are selected for Honors Wind Ensemble will receive private lessons and chamber music coaching from Butler School of Music faculty.
This camp culminates with a required student performance.
Campers will audition at the Butler School of Music on Sunday afternoon. In order to eliminate crowds, audition times will be assigned. We cannot accept audition time requests. Campers will be informed of their audition time by e-mail 2-3 days prior to the start of the respective camp and must audition at their assigned time. The audition process will begin at 12:00 p.m. and should end by 4:30 p.m.
